Youth Opportunities

The Jr. Youth Group includes youth from elementary-middle school ages. Monthly activities range from bonding experiences, such as back-to-school parties, to volunteer experiences where they can learn to share the love of Christ with others.

Children's Sunday School meets each Sunday at 9:15 am from August-May and includes opportunities for all ages. 

LWML is the ladies organization of the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod (LCMS) proclaiming to be Lutheran Women in Mission.  We participate in service projects of the Zone, District, and National LWML.  To receive news on events and opportunities to serve, email Karen Karner at candkkarner@gmail.com. 

St. John's has a very active and well-attended adult Sunday School class every Sunday morning at 9:15 a.m. in Blanchard Hall. The opportunity to study God's Word does not end on Sunday; St. John's also has two Bible study sessions on Wednesday. The first is at 11 a.m., and the second is at 5:45 p.m., prior to our liturgical mid-week service.

The purpose of the Senior Saints is to become better acquainted with our brothers and sisters in Christ. We meet the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at 11:30 am at the church in Blanchard Hall. We have a short Bible lesson, eat lunch, and play games! Occasionally we take a trip to places of interest. 

The Quilters meet each Thursday morning from 9:00-11:00 am to craft quilts. Some of them are given locally, others are sent to Lutheran World Relief for distribution in third-world countries and disaster situations. Advanced skill is not necessary, all are welcome!

Members of the Altar Guild are responsible for preparing the Altar for worship each Sunday, caring for the Altar clothes, Pastors vestments and acolytes’ robes, and the setting up and taking down of communion on assigned Sundays. Members do not need experience, but only the willingness to learn and the time to serve. 

Every month, our St. John's family comes together for an event, whether volunteering in the community, enjoying an ice cream social, family game night, or a cupcake bar; members of all ages gather to join in fun and fellowship.
